A few years back Hinter-Coast Transport acquired Noosa Hinterland Tours, so we make it our business to regularly visit the beautiful Noosa Hinterland and keep an eye on what’s going on there.
Pomona is one of the villages situated in the Noosa Hinterland and just a 30 minute drive from Noosa Heads. As well as being a delightful little spot to visit on any Noosa Country Drive, it also happens to be home of the ‘King of the Mountain’ Festival which this year happens on Sunday 22nd July and offers family friendly entertainment and culminates with the main event, a race up the mountain.
There are plenty of things to see and do in Pomona with delightful cafes, scenic walking trails and historic buildings to check out. We visited Pomona recently with a group of Tourism Noosa volunteers and loved visiting the historic Majestic Theatre, which happens to be the world’s longest running silent film theatre!
