Hinter-Coast Hearts – The Village Bicycle

We have a lot of love for so many things in Noosa and on the Sunshine Coast. So we thought it was time to share the love and start our ‘Hinter-Coast Hearts’ series, where we will feature one of our top spots on the coast and why we love it. Be it a cafe, bar, restaurant or picnic spot – or maybe even just something worth mentioning.

To kick things off we couldn’t go past our local Friday night hang out…The Village Bicycle (well lets be honest its probably more of a Friday, Saturday and sometimes Sunday hang out spot). We have been visiting the ‘VB’ since its launch in Noosa on the original premises near the roundabout on Noosa Drive. Its since moved and opened a bigger and better location in the heart of the Junction on Sunshine Beach Road, where you can either people watch from the front terrace or chill out in the beer garden amongst the epic wall murals and retro bikes.

Owner’s Trevor and Luke have excelled in offering a place that is both welcoming to new folks but appealing to the locals – and once you are there they make you feel like part of the family. Being in the Junction – it does tend to attract more of a ‘locals’ crowd but we wouldn’t be surprised if the VB fame draws in a few of the Hastings Street tourists too!

Speaking of famous – Matt whips up a pretty mean Baja Fish Taco that absolutely must be accompanied by a side of Tater Tots! The secret sauce is made in house, and 4 years later we still cant get enough of it.

Here’s to many more bevvies, and many more tacos at our favourite watering hole The Village Bicycle.
